Handling Uncertainty Regarding Imam's Status

If a traveller joins a Jamaat at a highway mosque or station without knowing whether the Imam is a Musafir or Muqeem, they should follow the Imam. If the Imam turns Salam at 2 Rak‘at, the follower turns Salam too if they are a Musafir. If the Imam stands for 3rd Rak‘at, the follower stands and completes 4 Rak‘at.
