Ruku 1 (رُكُوْعُهَا ١)
(102) Rivalry in Worldly Increase (Meccan)
Ayat 8 (آيَاتُهَا ٨)
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ١حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ٢كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ٣ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ٤كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ٥لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ٦ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ٧ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you
Ayah 2
Until you visit the graveyards
Ayah 3
No! You are going to know
Ayah 4
Then no! You are going to know
Ayah 5
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty
Ayah 6
You will surely see the Hellfire
Ayah 7
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty
Ayah 8
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure

Surah At-Takathur warns humanity against the delusion of mutual rivalry for worldly accumulation—wealth, status, and numbers—which distracts people until death overtakes them. It warns that every worldly blessing will be questioned.
